CEB research shows that only 24% of HR leaders consider their HIPO strategies to be an overall success; only 32% of organizations rate themselves as successful at identifying high-potentials and only 26% at developing high-potentials.

Most programs lack objective ways to measure true HIPO success and rely on subjective manager evaluations and internal benchmarks to evaluate the health of their succession pipeline. They also lack the relevant on-the-job learning to help HIPOs reach their full potential and drive performance outcomes and fail to link with business strategy to effectively sustain strong impact over time.
