Industrywide Applications for Deep-Drawn Metal Stamping

Manufacturers use deep-drawn stamping to form a number of hollow axisymmetric components, such as:

  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Automotive parts
  • Baking pans
  • Casings
  • Many other common metal items

This process applies a significant punching force to radically draw metal sheets into a die cavity. Finished components produced by this process tend to have a depth that exceeds their diameter, which is why manufacturers refer to it as “deep-drawn” metal stamping.

Radial tension–tangential compression shapes metal into the designed form in the deep-drawn stamping process. After placing a metal sheet on a forming die, compression force holds it in place while a mechanical punching tool applies axial force to the metal. This action compels the material to deform and flow into the die cavity, where it conforms to the designed shape.

Manor Tool and Manufacturing Company uses custom deep-drawn metal stamping to produce many types of products for a broad range of applications and industries. Our deep-drawn stamping experience allows us to provide our clients with cost-effective parts and components that meet their specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
