At no prior time in the history of the supply chain has there been more change — or has there been more potential for change — than there is today. IDC has predicted that by the end of 2018, one-third of companies will find themselves disrupted by digitally enabled competition, many of them as a consequence of having better supply chain capabilities or because they are unable to match companies that do. While disruption is happening at different speeds across different industries, this prediction appears to be holding true.
