Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) Medical Group is a faith-based health system with 15 hospitals acrossIllinois and Wisconsin. Their 2,300 providers serve a population of 2.6 million patients.

When HSHS implemented Epic’s practice management system, they launched the MyChart patient portal to better connect patients with their providers. However, only existing patients could schedule appointments online. New patients had to contact the HSHS call center in order to schedule an appointment.
