Today, buying an NFT is simpler than ever thanks to wallets like MetaMask and Fantom and marketplaces like OpenSea — but unlike ecommerce sites, these platforms don't (currently) charge buyers taxes at the time of the transaction. Most clients do not know this. As a result, many will not be aware of the taxes they owe, causing panic at tax time.
