The New Wave of Technology That’s Changing the Grocery Industry

In grocery produce sections, we’ve become accustomed to the sound of rolling thunder that precedes a mini rainstorm, dousing fruits and vegetables—and sometimes consumers—with water. But in recent years the French company ARECO Systems has partnered with Dauphinais, a case manufacturer out of Canada to create a more effective technology. Through a process called nebulization, a fine fog keeps produce (as well as meat, cheese and seafood) looking and tasting fresh, while minimizing food waste, reducing energy and labor needs and decreasing the reliance on plastic.
