Top Tips for Ensuring User Interactions & Conversions

User-Interactions

Brought to you by DesignContest, this checklist will provide you with valuable information on how to increase your website user’s experience – including interactions and conversations – ultimately leading to potential conversions.

  • Full-Width Images: Studies show that people often stop to look at larger images. That being said, the use of bigger, vibrant pictures, will help you to increase interest and conversions. Feel free to use positive images (i.e happy, smiling people), informative background videos, and animated pictures – as they are all great if you want to boost the conversion metrics.
  • Prioritized Navigation: If the user experiences too many attention grabbers pulling them in different directions, conversion rates will fall dramatically! That’s why all secondary navigation has to be hidden — specifically in your top drop-down menu(s).
  • Split-Screen Layouts: If you offer several types of products and/or services, all catering to different audience groups, you should direct users to specific landing pages which cater to their needs; all of course, with the help of “split screen” layouts.
  • Direct Lead Generation: Sometimes the best way to get new clients is to directly promote relevant offers. List out all of the benefits of your offer on the landing page, and do not be afraid to be intrusive.
  • Video Marketing: A visitors’ lack of confidence in your offer is the biggest enemy of conversion. Videos (greetings, reviews, demos) are a great way to show users who you are, what you are promoting, and why your product or service is amazing.
  • Monochrome Images / Contrast CTA: CTAs should always stand out. Bright buttons will look more effective when they are used on a neutral background — or in a contrast color palette.
  • CTA in the Column Form: Analysts say that a “call to action” gets more attention when it’s displayed in the form of a clickable column. Probably because there’s nothing else to distract the user…
  • Web Personalization: Utilize the user’s location data, purchase history, cookies, and other pertinent data to offer an individualized web experience. If your approach towards web personalization is good, every interaction with the user will bring you closer to achieving that coveted conversion!
