Creating a Learning Culture Within Your Organization

Learning-Organization

When it comes to high levels of productivity, it’s important to make sure your employees have access to the proper resources.  In fact, the best way to jumpstart employee development is by creating a learning culture within the workplace.  Here are a few tips you should follow to make sure your workplace is reaching its utmost potential.

1) You have to make it enjoyable

Gone are the days of people wanting to show up to work in suits, and this includes work meetings, as well.  Your employees are just like you — trying to find a way to make a living.  When you make meetings formal, you are possibly putting too much pressure on your employees to lead lifestyles that their salaries do not accommodate.  When it comes to learning programs, keep them informal.  They need to involve lots of hands-on-training and shouldn’t require your workers to be in suits and a tie.

2) Make the resources known

It doesn’t matter how many resources you provide to your employees, if they don’t know about them, how are they supposed to take advantage of them?  When you offer a resource to your workers, use various forms of communication to make them aware that that resources are available.  The best forms of communication include:

  • Employee memos
  • Phone calls
  • Text messages
  • Emails
  • Video conferences
  • VoIP

3) Research what can make your employees satisfied

Your employees will increase their levels of productivity if you give them a reason to.  This is why you should research what makes your workers satisfied.  When you provide incentives, productivity levels tend to soar through the roof.  These incentives can include anything from two weeks of paid vacation to free health insurance for a year.

4) Coach training is absolutely necessary

If you don’t know what you’re doing, neither will your employees.  This is why you and every other senior level executive should receive your own training, as well.  You must become responsible for your team’s actions and know how to remedy certain situations that can lead to reduced levels of productivity.
